Its solutions have proven useful for information tracking during political elections in a number of countries. Thanks to its “Easy Election” tool, television networks can offer visual representations of election results in real time, mixing 3D graphics with live images of the presenter. In the Spanish elections on 20 November, Brainstorm prepared the sets to create virtual television studios for some television channels, with superimposed on-screen graphics. “These graphics reported the election results quickly and with a high visual impact”, explains David Alexander, Sales Manager for the firm.

At election time, says Alexander, “Brainstorm is capable of supplying the channel with the interactive graphics for the vote count, all of which is managed through its technology portal”. This is fed by all the information gathered on election day and is automatically depicted on screen in the form of graphics. These are often bar charts, pie charts or graphs plotting the evolution of the results, depending on the type of information that is fed into the portal.

The BBC’s virtual display of the British elections was also thanks to the Spanish firm, which is gaining ground in the USA as well, where CNBC exclusively uses its graphics. The industry recognition from working for this important channel has helped the company to expand its presence in the US. Both the cable news channel MSNBC and ESPN, the leading sports channel, use its graphic solutions.

Although it only has 50 employees, Brainstorm has a powerful international profile that belies its size. Founded in 1993 by Ricardo Montesa, television has been the company’s principal market, although it has also been very active in the film industry. In addition to the BBC and the US channels, its clients include the Spanish channels TVE and Antena 3, as well as the German channel RTL.
